HOW DOES PARKING WORK ON THE ROUND ROCK CAMPUS?

All vehicles parked on Texas State campus are required to register their vehicle and purchase a permit through the online Parking Portal or AMP. 

This electronic permit is linked to your license plate, so your license plate number is what serves as your permit.

Students, Faculty & Staff

All students, faculty, and staff must register their vehicle and purchase a valid parking permit. Parking regulations are enforced 24/7.

Perimeter - Purple Permit

This permit is for commuting students and staff. Valid in designated purple perimeter lots at both the San Marcos and Rock campuses.

Academic Year Cost: $115

Round Rock Campus

Round Rock Red Restricted Permit

Available to faculty and staff who primarily work at the Round Rock campus. Valid in any non-reserved red surface lot.

Academic Year Cost: $115

Special Events

Texas State University is home to many special events, including athletic events, conferences, commencements, and workshops and Parking Services can assist you with making the appropriate arrangements.

There is no free parking in permit parking areas except for the following events or as approved by the Vice President for Finance and Support Services:
