Phase 2
Residential (Outside Neighborhood)
Permit sales open for resident students to purchase available residential permits for lots outside their immediate residence hall neighborhood.
Phase 3
Open Student Registration

Frequently Asked Questions
-
When can I purchase my permit?
Parking permit sales follow a three-phase rollout before every semester. First, Phase 1 opens for on-campus residents living inside their neighborhood, while Phase 2 expands to residents assigned outside their neighborhood. In Phase 3, registration opens to all students looking to buy commuter or any remaining residential permits. Keep an eye on your TXST email, as specific dates for each phase will be sent out ahead of the upcoming term.
-
How do Bobcat Shuttles work?
Bobcat Shuttles are free for all registered TXST students with a valid student ID card. Routes connect commuter perimeter lots and remote residential lots (like Thorpe Lane and Mill Street) directly to central campus academic loops.
-
What if my assigned residential lot is full?
Residential Assigned permit holders should contact UPD Dispatch at (512) 245-2805 for assistance before parking in an unassigned lot. A Public Safety Officer (PSO) will be dispatched to scan the lot and identify any unauthorized vehicles, which will then be towed. In the meantime, you will be directed to an alternative parking lot and provided a courtesy ride to and from your vehicle.
-
Are physical stickers or permits provided?
No, physical stickers or hangtags are not used. Texas State uses License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology, where your license plate serves as your permit.
