Commuter Permit
This permit is for commuters who do not reside in university housing. It grants access to standard commuter lots and areas across both campuses.

Commuter Parking Guidance
Off-Peak Parking Access Hours
Permit holders may access most other parking lots, including core campus employee parking during the following off-peak hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 5:00 p.m.* to 7:00 a.m.
- Friday 5:00 p.m. to Monday 7:00 a.m.*
Please Note: Always check the posted signage at each lot, as several exceptions apply to these hours. Residential Student Assigned lots remain restricted to those specific permit holders at all times.
Peak Hours Planning
Campus parking experiences peak volume between 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM. Arriving 30 to 45 minutes prior to class allows adequate time to park and travel across campus.

Strict 24/7 Residential Assigned Restriction
Residential Assigned lots are restricted to Residential Assigned Permit holders assigned to that specific lot at all times (24/7).
Permit Release Phases
Phase 1
Residential (Inside Neighborhood)
Permits are initially issued to on-campus resident students assigned to parking lots located directly within their designated residence hall neighborhood.
Phase 2
Residential (Outside Neighborhood)
Permit sales open for resident students to purchase available residential permits for lots outside their immediate residence hall neighborhood.

Open Student Registration
General registration opens. All students can purchase any remaining available student permit type, including Commuter and remaining Residential assigned permits.
Motorcycle Permits
Motorcycle parking is available in many lots and garages on campus. A motorcycle permit lets you park in any all-zone MC parking areas.
Accessible Parking
Accessible parking is available with a state-issued Persons with a Disabilities Parking Placard / License Plate and a valid Texas State Parking permit
